The agency has served Marion area businesses, homeowners and drivers with commercial, personal and automobile insurance policies since originally founded in 1969. The Marion Insurance Agency was formed with the merger of local agencies; Torrence, Smith, Stafford Insurance Agency and the Bernard R Smith and Sons Insurance Agency.

The agency today is owned by Shawn R Smith, CIC. Shawn is the grandson of Bernard Smith, who started his insurance agency back in the 1940’s. Shawn is licensed in Ohio to sell life and related insurance policies as well as property and casualty insurance policies. Experienced and knowledgeable staff focused on the client experience and community involvement are the keys to the agency’s continued growth.
Shawn Smith maintains the Certified Insurance Counselor designation, is a member of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents, the Ohio Insurance Agents Association and the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.
